Be like the sun

Just for a minute, imagine there are no sexual connotations in my following question.

How can you get someone’s clothes off with their own free will, with no threat, malice, objectivity, dupe, or force?

Be like the sun.

This morning I was on my non-negotiable run. This ritual is where my learning starts. I pop on the headphones, sync them with Bluetooth, and my first world privileges become connected in a frictionless way, and I can listen to my choice of Podcast episodes or get a book read to me by the author on Audible.

I chose the latter, and I’m reading (someone is reading to me) for the second time (too much to digest the first time round) Roberts Greenes 48 Laws of power.

Today’s knowledge seed that was planted in the magnificent headspace I obtained was the 43rd law — Work on the Hearts and Minds of others.

The traditional fable was added at the end of this law, which brings gravitas to this article.

“The Northwind and the sun were disputing which was stronger and agreed to acknowledge, as the victor, which of them could strip a traveller of his clothing.

The wind tried first, but its violent gusts only made the man hold his clothes tightly around him, and when it blew harder still around him, the cold made him so uncomfortable that he put on an extra wrap. Eventually, the wind got tired of it and handed him over to the sun.

The sun shone first with moderate warmth, making the man take off his topcoat. Then it blazed fiercly, till unable to stand the heat, he stripped and went to bath in a nearby river”.

PERSUASION is more effective than force.

The curious part of me asked questions: Surely, this is a sign of deceived power and undoubtedly a leading proposition? But then I argued everyone has a choice, and if I were a gambling man, I’d bet that man felt his whole inhibitions and anxiety’s melt away as his body was free and liberated.

My Interpretation — This is an operating system for navigating your way through this thing called life. Be kind, be warm. If you have the experience, wisdom, faith, and confidence to deliver your value to the world, let it shine very bright, and you will be the change you want to see in this world.

Warmth
